2025 Program Highlights

Friday 12 September commences at 5:45 pm with our Official Opening by Mayor Ry Collins, a welcoming drink and canapes, followed by Love Letter to Queensland, an evening featuring our keynote speaker Dr. Anita Heiss, a stimulating lineup of notable speakers, each presenting their own love letter to Queensland, and then a special treat, a love song to Queensland written and sung by WWF president Karen Jacobsen.

Dr Lindsay Simpson is an award-winning Author, Investigative Journalist and Co-ordinator and Founder of the Master of Arts (Writing) and Bachelor of Multimedia Journalism at James Cook University, QLD Australia. Author of 11 books, she is based in the Whitsundays and we are thrilled she will deliver her brilliant workshops at the 2025 Whitsundays Writers Festival.
