4-NIGHT WRITING INTENSIVE
This year we are partnering with the Roderick Centre to offer a four night writing intensive residency with Dr. Lindsay Simpson at Yangaro Resort. The Roderick Centre for Australian Literature and Creative Writing at James Cook University (JCU), hosts this retreat to celebrate the rich tradition of Australian literary arts. Spaces are limited.

LOVE LETTER TO QUEENSLAND – $85
Friday 12 September commences at 5:45 pm with our Official Opening by Mayor Ry Collins, welcome drink and canapes, and Love Letter to Queensland event, an evening featuring keynote speaker Dr Anita Heiss, a stimulating lineup of notable speakers each presenting their own love letters to Queensland, topped off by a special Love Letter to Queensland song composed and sung by WWF President Karen Jacobsen.

Dr Lindsay Simpson is an award-winning Author, Investigative Journalist and Co-ordinator and Founder of the Master of Arts (Writing) and Bachelor of Multimedia Journalism at James Cook University, QLD Australia. Author of 11 books, she is based in the Whitsundays and we are thrilled she will deliver her brilliant workshop in memoir writing at the 2025 Whitsundays Writers Festival.
